Zürich, 2 March 2020 – Volunty Corporate AG has been operating with the new name atwork since 1 March 2020. The new name reflects the expansion of the focus area from solely corporate volunteering to employee engagement with a more extensive offering. In doing so, atwork now offers three modules. Innovative employee surveys as pulse checks («pulse»), professional solutions for the management of internal employee activities («active») and an app for efficient employee communication(«connect»).
What’s new and improved atwork.
“Our goal continues to be supporting companies in fostering employee engagement and creating a generational work experience”, says Marco Meister, co-founder & CEO of atwork. “This is particularly important as surveys show that only 13% of Swiss employees are very engaged.”
“Employers are facing a major challenge, as the ambitious younger generations Y and Z will take over the majority on the Swiss labour market in 2021. If companies want to keep their top talents, they have to inspire them. We help companies in doing so,” says Philipp Blumer, Co-Founder & Chief Sales Officer of atwork. “In a society where employees change jobs more often, employee engagement is more important than ever for companies.”
According to atwork, active employee engagement is when employees bring their whole selves into their professional roles. When they are physically, cognitively and emotionally present in carrying out their work. This is the idea behind the new English company slogan: “With hands, head and heart atwork“.
Since 2019, atwork has been working together with the ZHAW to scientifically examine employee engagement and derive software solutions. Together with the ZHAW, the Employee Engagement Life Cycle was developed. Engagement must be measured frequently in scientifically based surveys, requires targeted action strategies and the evaluation of their effectiveness. The Swiss Innovation Agency, Innosuisse, recognized this comprehensive approach and donated six-figure grants for further research and work in the area of employee engagement.
After the first successes in Switzerland, the start-up has expanded to Stuttgart (D) in 2019. With the new name and expanded product range, atwork will continue to expand internationally and enlarge its market area.
In supporting companies with measuring and fostering employee engagement through innovative software solutions, atwork offers three modules.
- Employee surveys as pulse checks (pulse)
- Professional management of all internal employee activities (active)
- A mobile application for efficient employee communication (connect)
With locations in Switzerland, Germany and the US atwork employs more than 20 people. The focus group being targeted are large companies and SMEs in the DACH region. The company originated from Volunty Corporate AG, originally founded in 2014 as the non-profit association Volunty International by Marco Meister and Philipp Blumer.
